We have a whole bunch of young founders in our Heretic community — and a good number of older ones as well (including myself — having crossed into the second half of my life recently).
When speaking to people in their forties (and fifties & sixties) who are thinking about becoming an entrepreneur — I often hear hesitation. The fear of the unknown becomes so much more prevalent when you are not starting from zero but when there is a career to look back on; a status quo to lose.
For all of you (and the wonderful founders who are quite literally half my age) — heed Dylan Thomas’ advice:
Do not go gentle into that good night,
Old age should burn and rave at close of day;
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.
Heretics: Do not go gentle into that good night! Rage, rage!
