THE DOUBT CLUB
I recently sat down with my dear friend Aza Raskin
who told me about Doubt Club. Doubt Club is something Aza set up with Tristan Harris
and Joe Edelman
. The idea is simple, compelling and needed:
Life as an entrepreneur is stressful and can be lonely. To the outside world everything is always awesome. You can’t show any weaknesses or, god forbid, doubts.
Which is why you want to set up a Doubt Club: Find a few entrepreneurs who are working on non-competing ideas. You agree that whatever is being shared at Doubt Club won’t leave the room. You sit in a circle and go around three times. First time everyone shares a doubt about their product. Second time they share a doubt about their company mission or metric. And the third time everybody shares a doubt about their life mission / career.
It allows you to let down your guard. It allows you to get the stuff off your chest which is weighing you down. It makes you realize that you’re not alone. It’s highly cathartic.
Set up your own Doubt Club and let me know how it works out for you!
