DIFFERENT PEOPLE FOR DIFFERENT TIMES
Recently I found myself talking to a couple of founders who all seemed to hit the same wall: They had issues with early employees or co-founders.
What happened is that the other person didn’t pull their weight, had different views on priorities or simply disagreed on the broad strategic direction.
It seems to be an unfortunate but unavoidable reality: There are people who fit best into a specific point in a companies’ lifecycle and who can’t easily adopt themselves to the requirements of other stages.
As hard as it is — it’s okay. Acknowledge it, make it as easy and painless for both sides to break up, lick your wounds and move on.
There are different people for different times.
