Recently someone asked me about my “information diet” — the stuff I read on a daily basis. I told her that I don’t read that much online anymore; I essentially gave up on TechCrunch, PandoDaily, The Next Web, Mashable, Business Insider and the like. I skim Hacker News and Re/Code and that’s about it.

Why? Simple. Most of the reporting which is done by these websites, centers around the perceived drama of Silicon Valley and the captains of this industry. It’s the tech equivalent of Hollywood gossip. It’s useless and not even that entertaining.
I’d rather spend my time discussing ideas…
